Increasing Pagespeed, GT Metrix etc Scores – (Step Five) — YOU ARE AT THE END OF THIS SERIES
To be able to complete this step you must at the very least complete step one to install the Litespeed plugin into WordPress!
As this is part of a series of steps we recommend you move through the steps one by one to get the most benefit.
This is the 6th and final step in this series of How to Speedup a WordPress Website.
You should already have made vast improvements to your website speed and this last step will cement those wins further.
So this step is enabling object caching with Redis.
Object cache stores allow frequent or intensive database lookups to be cached in an easy to retrieve way that also eliminates the need for WordPress to query the database.
This results in much quicker time to retrieve query results.
If you go to Cache in the Litespeed menu.
You will now be on a page with tabs to choose from.
The one you need is called.
[6] Object
Go ahead and click that one.
The first thing you need to check is if Redis is available.
You can find that in the section near the top and you are looking for: –
Redis Extension: Enabled
If it is not enabled please ask your webhost to enable it for you.
Again some will and some won’t, if not then we enable it for all our web hosting packages 🙂
Next copy all the following settings and click Save Changes to make it so!
And that’s it all steps done!
You can get an idea of the benefits of your changes bu visiting the Litespeed Dashboard Menu.
Then checking out the following sections (they may need you to refresh them to see the data)
As you can see in this example it has really helped the load speed and page score.
By following these steps you will also get dramatic results.
Just don’t choose any settings other than the ones shown as sometimes one setting can completely undo the good done!
